Exclamation Mazda 3 Brakes

Hi,

When I release the break of Mazda 3, there is a sound which looks like it is hitting something hard. Today I took my car for 10000kms service and the service engineer confirmed that this is a normal issue with Mazda 3/6. Is that true? Can anyone pls throw some light on this?

Cheers

I've never heard of that, I have 3K miles on my 3 so far.

Bra your gettin' I have close to 40K and have never heard of anything like this. Take it to another dealer stat! There is something not right on your 3. Don't let them blow smoke. Stand hard and tell them to fix it. Just to confirm, this is after a complete stop. Stop sign or red light. Then release to go? If so, find another dealer. I did and have been happier!

If you don't fully release the brake pedal, and lightly let off it can make a groaning/moaning sound, which is normal. But if you are releasing quickly, and you are hearing a knock or something like that, there may be an issue. Did the said dealership even inspect your car? Or just say "it's normal" over the phone.

Just bring it back and tell them to fix it. If they say the same thing again, call MAZDA directly and talk to them. Good Luck!

if you really just want to make sure y dont you jack up the front or back and take off a tire and get someone to press the brakes while you check it out up close and personal. then go all the way around and see how they all look.

mine moans and groans once in awhile too and it sounds horrible but this started AFTER i bought $100 brakes in the front so I kind of figured it was expected and btw, I will never buy cheap brakes ever again....i have 57,000 miles on my '04 3.
