Just because you require a buzzer doesn't mean the rest of us do. I want to make sure this is very clear for you because you either don't know how to read, or your just flat out stubburn and looking for an argument....

My friend would like to know how to disable the annoying buzzer, (I'll pause here and let you absorb) because the option exists. He does not need to be reminded everytime he gets in the car that he needs to wear a seatbelt. Like Pavlovs dog, wearing a seatbelt has pretty much become automatic for most people (I'll pause again for you). Furthermore, the fact that he wants to remove the buzzer, does not mean that he is automatically refusing to wear a seatbelt again. Relax.

 

Whos arguing?? Are your feelings hurt or something?? Someones either has entirely too much caffine in their diet, or just permenently has their panties in a wad....Tell your of a friend or yourself to call the dealership and have it done the right way if hes so worried about a little buzzer....the buzzer that wont be there if he wears it anyways.

 

Jeffro...you're totally useless, why even come back with your ignorant responses. If you were to actually READ the posts before blindy throwing out usless inflamatory responses you would know that in my VERY FIRST post, I stated that the dealer will not decontent the seatbelt buzzer, the right way.

 

Jeffro, you can rest now. I know you have been searching night and day to help solve my friends original inquiry. I have found the deactivation proceedure and it includes a temporary and long-term disable feature.

Well here we are again. Why all the fuss over something that wont even go off if you wear your seatbelt in the first place. Well since you and you freind are so intellegent maybe you should figure out a way to disarm the airbags too you dont really need them anyway right. As far as my not reading your posts.Well after you read the same thing over and over you get lazy i guess. You asked a question of the forum . The forum gave you the most honest answer. If you dont like that answer you call us a bunch of jerks because you didnt llike the way we tried to help you. If you dont want an answer dont freakin ask. As far as Im concerned you and your friend can go drive the car with the seat belt warning disarmed right off a cliff but we all thought you might not want to fly out when you landed . Excuse me SHEESH. Dont ask STUPID questions. Dont get STUPID answers

Well, I sure hope that when you are working you don't tell these new drivers (teenagers) that it is okay to disregard the seatbelt warning tones just because they want to tune up their cars. You might have a point, but what you are really doing is setting a bad example and you just really sound stupid (or atleast your friend does). I am sure everyone has understood and read your post, but what we are trying to say is, that there is no reason and it does not make a bit of sense. Don't get so offense, just "think" a little before you ask such a rediculous question for your friend! I sure hope you aren't the one who analyzes my car...scary

 

Look guys, he wants to not have the seatbelt warning and it's not your car. He said he still is going to wear a seat belt he just doesn't want the noise. This topic should have died after the 5th post although it has been pretty funny.

 

That is exacty our point .If he wears his seatbelt the buzzer wont go off in the first place . So why worry about disarming it . My last post on the subject LOL

 

All I wanna know, is does your friend wear his seatbelt or not, that's all I wanna know. Just curious.

 

Listen, while driving my 3 I figured out why he wants it off. Different people have different routines for starting the car. Mine is get in, put seatbelt on, then turn on car. But if you turn on the car and then put on the seat belt the noise still goes off. And after time and time again of driving that can get damn anoying. Its not that they are driving without seatbelts. Its probably that they start the car like that. Now I could be completely wrong but that explanation makes sense.

 

It DOES NOT come on if you just start the car with your seatbelt off...mine doesnt go off till its in gear and going at least 5 MPH and still usually takes 30-40 seconds for it to go off the first time. I like mine...its like a nagging wife telling your to put your belt on cuz sometimes i tend to forget. Just put it on and say "Yes dear"

 

Garnet, right now access to the PCM is dealer only. Brand new protocol is in place called CAN (Controller Area Network) and tooling for the aftermarket isn't scheduled for release 'till January. Even then, it'll be emissions specific, anyway. So a trip to the dealer is the only way. However, Timberwolf's suggestion would work too, without altering the car.
