Mazda to Launch SIRIUS Satellite Radio in Six Vehicle Lines

New York, NY -- SIRIUS Satellite Radio, known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and premium sports programming to cars and homes across the country, today announced that SIRIUS is expected to be available as a dealer-installed option in the following schedule of Mazda vehicles:

Mazda Tribute -- spring 2004

Mazda MPV -- spring 2004

Miata -- spring 2004

RX-8 -- summer 2004

MAZDA3 -- fall 2004

MAZDA6 -- fall 2004

All of these Mazda vehicles will have factory-equipped radios that display artist, song title and category when playing SIRIUS. To obtain the SIRIUS service, a tuner and antenna must be installed by the dealer, and a subscription to SIRIUS must be purchased. Pricing will be announced at a later date.

SIRIUS will provide Mazda drivers with 61 commercial-free music streams and 44 sports, news and entertainment streams, including live play-by-play games from the NBA, NHL, and beginning next football season, the NFL.

"We are elated to be working with Mazda to expand the SIRIUS offering to include their most popular vehicles," said Doug Wilsterman, Senior Vice President Automotive OEM for SIRIUS. "As we continue to grow our automotive OEM business in 2004, we remain committed to working with our partners to bring the very best in commercial-free music and sports programming to their customers."

"Mazda is dedicated to offering its customers the very best of in-car entertainment to complement their new car purchase," said Robert Davis, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Product Development for Mazda North American Operations. "By offering SIRIUS' premium entertainment, we provide our customers with added value to go along with their value-minded purchase."

SIRIUS is expected to be available on additional Mazda vehicle lines in the near future.

Mazda North American Operations is responsible for the sales and marketing, customer parts and service support of Mazda vehicles in the United States. Headquartered in Irvine, California, MNAO has more than 700 dealerships nationwide.

Yeah Sirius is pretty sweet. I prefer it over XM myself, because of where I live and the content they provide. Plus, while I sit at my desk at work all day long I am streaming it on my PC speakers.. making my work day go by SOOO much faster.
