You can sign me up too. I also noticed that the 2.3 has 150 lbs of torque, where before they were saying 138, or something like that. With leather, sport package and HID you are in for about $19,500. This does not include any rebates and you know that there will be, at least in CA. Hopefully 6 mo. or so and I will have one. Ha Ha!

I wonder if you could mod the 2.3L in naturally aspirated form to 200hp. I know that is something the NA guys hae been trying for a while with the 3rd gen Pro's.
Maybe with a CAI, an exhaust header and cat back system, new cams, a metal intake manifold (this one's plastic), an Extrude Honed head, it might be possible to bridge the 40hp gap. The head could possibly be decked for a bump in compression. It is currently only running 9.7:1 on 87 pump gas.
But here is the big question: How much will the Tumble Swirl Control Valve and Variable Induction System restrict aftermarket mods to the intake?

Thoughts??

Im not too concerned about getting 200 hp. I think the CAI will give you about 10-12 hp concidering it has the same engine as the 6 and an injen CAI produces about that for the 2.3. I also wouldnt suprise me if you cannot use a piggyback for the CPU which would be able to give you a pretty good jump in hp. It seems as though Mazda doesnt care about the aftermarket community. They want to be able to show that they are a responsible car company that makes "out of the box" good cars to drive. Just my opinion.
