Mazda3i auto tranny issues, sensor problem?
Hi, i have a 2005 mazda3. Within the passed 6 months the car will not start in park. This happened on and off for a while, but consistantly for the last week. I just changed m oil today and now the cars auto trann light came on and the car is having shifting issues. When i put it into reverse there is a delay from when i push the pedal to when it wants to move, and when in drive it automatically shifts from 1 to 3 and then to 4th gear. So now its starting out on 4 th gear and the car barely moves. Also it will not let me use the manual drive anymore. one more piece of info, i now hear like a static sound. Almost as if something electrical is bein shorted. Any ideas?

Linkage is loose for the PRNDL selection. So where you have the selection lever isn't being transmitted to the transmission properly. The linkage could be loose, something bent / corroded. Look for the linkage location on the transmission, it's toward the engine from the battery location - probably need a helper to move the lever while you look with a flashlight. But you may be able to see if something is loose / corroded.
