MS3/MS6/CX7 Mods interchangable?

I'm just wondering, what if any mod parts are interchangable between the Speed3, Speed6, and CX-7? The ETS top mount IC fits all 3, right? But the downpipe would certainly not fit all 3 cars would it ... and same with intakes?

I assume the XEDE has maps for whatever application you purchase it for, but can you have more than one map on the ECU? If you could, of if it were easy to load a different map, it would be fun to have one and swap it between cars.

Right now from what I know, only the TMIC works between the cars (MS6 and 3, not too sure about the CX). Apparently the factory ECUs are quite a bit different between the cars which is hampering getting some stuff to market.

There are recent rumors floating around that Cobb has managed to crack the ECU and they will be releasing an Accessport relatively soon. Who can say. I also read some German company has cracked it and can reflash yours, but I can see problems there with different tunes from the factory for different parts of the world (not to mention how long the car would be down). You can probably get some info from Ken at Protege Garage about the Xede as he seems to have experience with it. Right now based on what I have read, I am waiting for CP-E's standback once they make it available as PnP. From what they have put forth their unit will be made for a specific vehicle so no swapping there. Kind of sucks, I was hoping with a lot of people that stuff would be developed for the Speed3 as it seems to be popular, and then those of us with Speed6's would be able to join in the fun. At least CP-E is addressing the 6 first, and their unit seems pretty versatile. Once enough people get them it should be possible to trade maps for different states of tune to save some dyno money.

So does anybody here have experience with the XEDE? I'll write Ken in the meantime ... but just wondering how the map load works on it, and if the pigtail is the same between the different cars. Theoretically if it's the same hardware and will plug into all 3 cars - and maps are easy to swap - you could have one ECU and swap it inbetween cars.

I just bought an OE re-flasher tool for mazda ecu's. I can do any mazda ECU from 1995+...I also have full access to every OE mazda map from the entire world.

As soon as the hardware is in my hands I'll post some pics for everyone.
