Exclamation MS3 + nitrous

Hello speed freaks. I'm considering putting nitrous on my MS3 It has 21k on it, so the engine is broken in. A 50-75 shot would be ideal, but I'm leaning more toward a 50hp dry shot. I have the basic bolt ons, CAI & cat-back. I know you can get the intercooler spray system, but that system seems more like trying to pee on a wildfire. Nitrous into the combustion chamber seems to be alot more power for the money. Would it be best to go with direct port, or to put the inlet in the intake pipe after the MAF? And, does anybody know if you can have the dealer reset the hp limiter from gears 1 through 3? I might not want to reset 1st or 2nd, but having the extra hp in 3rd would be really nice.

I say you just dump the nitrous directly into the gas tank for more even mixing. +100hp that way.

Spraying it onto the IC is LOTS safer, and it actually results in about 85% the amount of power compared to spraying into the engine. The difference it makes on the IC temperature is HUGE. I really wish we had front mounts instead so you could more easily setup a system like that or atleast a water system like on the Evo.

by spraying the intercooler, all you are doing is help the air charge cool. the nitrous or CO2, depending on whichever you use, doesn't actually get into the intake tract. the systems help COOL by 85%, not add 85% more power. 85% power gain would be 223 more hp, that doesn't make sense.

You mis-read what I wrote. I said that spraying the IC results in the engine producing 85% the same amount of power as spraying it into the engine directly.

Gotta do some searching on the boards. A good IC cooling system can yield amazing results.

It makes sense to me. From what he said, that is down 15% from what you would get into the intake manifold.

The thing I done't understand about the whole 85% mark is if I was to get a 50 shot, thats' 50 horsepower. So is installing an IC sprayer going to get me 42.5 horsepower? That sounds rather inflated.

Much apologies.

My little brother has been using my computer and been on a few of the forums I'm on.

While I HAVE heard that spraying CO2 (not N2O) on the intercooler works very well, I dunno how much it helps exactly. Again, I apologize for my dumb little brother. I only found this thread by looking in my 'recent threads' section in my control panel and I was like wtf???
