Need Help Buying K&N Typhoon CAI

Hey, I have an '06 3 and I just recently decided to starting modifying it a bit. I've been searching through all of these threads and found that I want to start with a K&N Typhoon CAI. Most places I see it charge me somewhere around $300, but I found a site (K&N Typhoon ) that is selling it for $255. Can I trust this site? Does anyone know anything about it?

~Thanks!

No problem. This forum isn't the busiest place on the net but it is one of the most helpful and mature!

When you order tell Ken that MattyP sent you.

Ken's a great guy, and if you really want the K&N get it from him. But you can get the Simota Twin-Charger CAI for $99.00 plus shipping.
I just got a new supply, and it doesn't last long.

K&N

It's a fair price and a great upgrade. I've had mine for about a year. You'll notice the difference.

Is there a noticeable power/sound difference between the Simota Twin Charger CAI and the K&N?

The Simota is a bit louder due to a higher filter air flow rate. Power-wise, the intakes would be nearly identical overall. However, the Simota has better low-down power because of the smaller-diameter tubing at the throttle-body. More of the K&Ns power increase (and other intakes) is above 4000rpm.

Exactly, Gary (kargoboy) is another of the very trustworthy vendors here.

Come to think of it...there are NO bad vendors on this forum. We've pretty much weeded all of the bad apples. None of the drama from the other forums.

Sure we don't have the quantity but we have the quality. To some people that's more important.

Hey, just to make sure, I don't have to make any cuts or drills in my 3 for either of these CAIs right?
