Need your help/advice- Thanks in advance!

Hi, I've been wanting a Mazda 3 hatch for the longest time. Right now I may have the opportunity to buy one but being a first time buyer I'm not sure what to look for. I am on Autotrader and found a this car -

2005 Mazda Mazda3 SP23 Special Edition Hatchback
$15,499

Is there anything I should look out for being a Special Edition Hatchback?

The Vin is JM1BK343451293928 but my Carfax account just expired and it's the only car I'm interested in right now.

What are your thoughts and thanks for helping out this noob!

I have a 2005 Mazda3 Hatchback sport. What constitutes a mazda3 being a special edition. What I have found out is that all 5 doors are 2.3 sport editions. Unless there is a huge difference between the special edition and the normal 5 door then i think that price is a little much.

I actually think the price is pretty fair considering the low miles.

The sp23 was a special edition released in the US for the 2005 model year. The differences between it and the regular models are:
-bose stereo
-heated leather seats (option of black or saddle brown)
-HID headlights
-LED tail lights (5-door only)
-carbon gray mica paint
-high gloss wheels
-piano black trim
-auto headlights
-auto wipers

In 2005 you could actually get several of these options on the regular models in the option packages (HIDs, leather seats) but in order to get everything you went with the sp23. The down side for the sp23 is that most all of the options that made it special (limited production numbers and all) became standard equipment on the '06 GT model. So for the most part there are very few differences between the sp and the regular model. In fact if you went with a '06 GT model you'd also gain the ambient temp. display on the cluster, and ACC.

Thank you. That REALLY helps a lot! The guy selling it unfortunately is currently in Colorado trying to sell the car. He says that if he hasn't sold it by August 20th, he'll drive it back to LA where I saw the ad
