not starting
Hello, I'm posting this for my grandfather.....My grandmother has an '08 mazda3 today they brought it for emissions and it passed, when they were getting home pulling in the garage he said the dash lights came one and started beeping. He shut the car off and now it will not start again. Any ideas?

In no start scenarios, you need to rule out the mechanics that can cause this in order to diagnose it. The dash light thing doesn't mean much if your grandpa didn't know which one.
Now we could have three different kinds of a no start symptom.
1st: Your engine turns over from the starter but doesn't run.
2nd:Your engine makes a rapid and repetitive ticking noise.
3rd: You turn the key/ press the start button, and nothing happens.
If your engine turns over, then check your fuses under the dash and in the engine bay. A good rule of thumb is to always, always, make sure that your fuses are good first.
If you hear a rapid ticking noise then it's likely you need to charge the battery and check for corrosion around the battery terminals and starter motor terminals.
If you turn the key/ press the start button, and nothing happens, then rule out first if the vehicle has any battery power. If the battery has power then always, always check your fuses.
Give everyone some more info on engine and model mazda 3. Having this info, knowing which symptom of "no start" is at hand here, and ruling out those above mentioned instructions will help us help you more. What's the engine size and is this a mazda 3i, s, grand touring, speed3?
Hope this helps!
