Red face poor accerlation/deceleration problems solved

I also wanted to share my success story and inform everyone of what I had and maybe it can help someone else.

My car used to accelerate and decelerate regardless of what gear I was in while coming to a stop, particularly in traffic. The dealership replaced my whole throttle body and erased my computer's memory so it doesn't remember ever doing it. It's been almost a month since my car's been in the shop and I (knock on wood) haven't had any problems. This problem that I had seemed common, a couple of ppl have told me that they've had the same thing before so if you or anyone you know happens to own a Mazda, get your throttle body checked out.

See this is exactly why I think some things shouldn't be trusted to be computer controlled. Luckily there's a failsafe (pushing the clutch in, putting it in neutral (would work with autos too)).

Glad to hear the revised throttle body solved the problem for you
