Unhappy Problems with brakes in mazda 3,,dealer says its normal....

I bought my mazda 3 on January. SInce February, the brakes are makining a strange sound. When I go forward, and put reverse, the brakes makes a "taaaackk" sound,( very loud) and when I put it again forward, and hit the brakes on movement it does the sound again. The dealer said that the sound its normal on the car, that the sound comes from the brakes that moves back and forth, (if i go back, the brakes moveback, and if I move forward, the brakes also move forward).

Its the first time I heard that,

Any one has this problem? What can it be?

Just a suggestion, go to another dealer and don't tell them what you did, just tell them you have noisy breaks and want them checked, then see what they say. Like getting a second opinion from the doctors. I did that with my P5 and the second dealer found a serious problem that was repaired under warranty. Good luck and let me know what the out come is.

sweet, double newbie post!

Yeah, hit another dealer and NEVER support the first dealer again.

p.s. I hope you guys don' seriously expect Mazda to honor their warranties. It's been proven time and time again that they won't.

Clunking noise in the front

If you have a clunking noise in the front it might actually be something else. I brought my car in for a clunking noise in the front. The noise was worst when moving the car back and forth. The dealer talked to Mazda Canada and told me that the noise is coming from the drive shaft. According to the dealer this is a design issue. They will be replacing left and right drive shaft with a new design one next week.

i better give them a call then, my problem would occur when at some points i would press on the brakes kinda hard, not to a screetching point, but ya know, and sometimes i swear if it wasn't for the downshifting to help me slow down also, i would already be smashed into someone else's rear end of there car.... thats a serious problem, especially coming from the mazdaspeed version, you'd think it'd be a nice, safe car... pfft, i like the car alot, its only that one problem with the "clunking" noise.

that clunking noise, w.e it is, decreases the chance of me bein able to stop at all whenever it happens, instead of the usual you know 110...120ft from 60-0, it comes out to be 200ft!.... lol, im dead

If it is actually is affecting the braking distance then it wouldn't be the driving shaft.

Brake issue 2004 3S

I have a 2004 Mazda 3S I bought in July, I took it to the dealer in September about the brake squeal in the rear. They stated that Mazda had a service bulletin and they did the fix, apparently they grind the rotors on the edges. This seemed to solve the problem for about 1000 miles and then the squeaking returned. I took my car into the dealership yesterday and they told me since the service bulletin did not correct the problem that they would replace the brake pads and rotors under warranty. I will be picking my car up on Thursday I hope the new brakes are better, I will update later on. I have had nothing but great experiences at both my Mazda dealerships when I have required warranty service.
