Questions on boosting the 2.3 motor

I have a few questions, I have a 2004 2.3 4dr. . .and I am thinking about the turbo kit from hi-boost.

First of all since the stock compression ratio is 9.5:1 do I need to lower the compression to run 6-8 pounds of boost

Second do I need to upgrade the injectors

third is the hi-boost kit worth it ?

So if I did upgrade the injectors it would not be a problem, such as running a set of 440 cc ?

you'd be wasting money and causing all sorts of tuning issues. Juan sells the hiboost kit with an F10X specifically programmed for either the stock injectors or whatever comes in his kit. I believe his Mazda3 kit just uses stock injectors.

They are more than enough for what you need.

So, pretty much. . .I should be good, the only other thing I have noticed is that the mazda 3's that are aftermarket turbo havea short ram intake. . .is that needed, or will I be able to maintain the injen cold air intake i have installed ?

You'd be better off contacting them and see how many people you would need for a Group buy. Then try to organise it in a new thread. I doubt you'd get a discount on 2, but maybe 5-10 people could knock some $ off the top.

you do need to upgrade the injectors and use the supplied haltech and injectors with the hiboost kit. the fuel system is returnless and will not support more than 2psi on the stock injectors.

I didn't know the HiBoost kit came with larger injectors. I did know however that if it needed them that Juan would include them!
