I had mine replaced at the start of this year. This was before the recall became an official recall and they had my 3 for a month! They gave me a old bare bones protege to drive around in. Nothing compared to my new 3 that I couldn't drive for a month and still had to pay for (Leasing). No reimbursement or any kind of customer service from Mazda Canada witch didn't really sit well with me, but the airbag light has not come on since.

can i ask a quick question?
when no higher than 2500 rpm if u hit the gas hard to accelerate, does your car (3) kinda hesitate or bogg hard kinda like the engine dies for a quick second then comes back in and proceeds to accelerate, i noticed it only will do this in like 1st or 2nd when low in the rpm, anything 3000 rpm and higher it just goes with out the hesitation..

thanks.
I don't get any hesitation in mine. I would have that looked at. I had to have my fuel pump replaced the first week I got it. Maybe that is the problem? Do you have any problems getting it to turn over?

Yeah if I hit the gas with the tach reading 2000 or even 2500 it takes a while to really "wind up" to 3500 and beyond where I really start to feel the power.

But no "hesitation" - does your engine actually sputter, cut out, run roughly? Or are we just talking about how long it takes to rev up?

Haven't noticed any hesitation in my engine. If it's a question, liek Bob said, about taking a bit of time to rev up or whatnow - we have to remember that as much as we absolutely love our car, and as great it is - it's not a Porshe, never was intended to be, and never will be.

it actually has a slight sputter at times even before it gets to wind up..

like i"ll hit the gas, it will sputter or hesitate, like the engine dies for a split second the winds up

Sputter, sputter that's bad. This is the kind of thing that I thought newer cars can actually detect and log with their on-board instrumentation... in theory the dealer can download the info and diagnose the problem....

In any case, assuming this is a repeatable problem, it should be simple enough to describe it to the dealer's mechanic and get it fixed. should-be being the operative phrase.... Some of these guys are lazy and if he blows you off or claims to have fixed it and hasn't then INSIST on going for a test drive with the mechanic and demonstrating the problem --- "OH, THAT!, yeah... I see ... hmmmm..... "
