remote start on manual
#2
Sorry if this is getting here late, but I have a Viper remote start on my 5 speed. It hooks up like any regular remote start, but you have to make a couple of relays that bypass the 2 clutch switches so it will crank. It's not a good idea, but it is possible. And DEI makes a neutral safety box, but it's retarded so I'm just careful.

Bad Idea! I've been told by several people including the shop that installed my alarm it's bad idea. I have a 5 speed Protege ES with a Viper 700 alarm.
The most dangerous problem is if you autostart and it's in gear. Then there's the problem if it's in neutral and the brake fails. Sounds like it's a bad way to go with a stick shift. Curious how if works on auto manuals like the VW GTI dual clutch automatic.
