Sudden loud engine noise

Hi all,

I just bought myself a 2nd hand Mazda 3 SP (2007). Drove for less than a 100 km when the engine suddenly "roared" into a monster.

Would like to know if anyone has experience it before or know what is the problem and how it was rectify.

Really appreciate the help.

Thanks.

Check No.3 Engine mount. It's a well known Mazda's problem. Once it fails, engines vibration and sound become really bad and loud. However, it's only heard while accelerating and on Drive gear, not on Neutral.

I had the same problem with mine. The mount broke while driving and broke the cv shaft. It made the same noise. Check and see if your engine is a little down on one side or a bit forward. If that's not the case. Your airfilter box could have popped open
