more details please! like, what was the condition of your protege, how much did they give you on the trade in, and are your payments any more expensive? *Just* in case I decide I want something new before my 5 years of debt ends I have a P5 and absolutely love it, but if I decide I need more cargo space to carry around my keyboard, amps, speakers, drums, etc... I would check out the new Mazda5.

Well the protege was in good codition body Body needed a little paint on the bumper. So they gave me 4000 for My payments are 313 and that is about 40 bucks more than what I was paying but that was thanks to having no credit. space wise to me might be a lilttle bigger but I'm not sure. But So far I have no complaints about my 3 and I loved my protege but a side of my is glad that I got the 3

Yeah, I hated (well, kinda disliked) the way the 3 looked when it first came out. I gotta admit, they're growing on me though. I saw one at a Mazda meet the other night with RX-8 wheels on it. Thumbs up!

I admit, I really didn't like the 3 at first either. Mazda has a way of making a great-looking front end but it seems like they lose interest by the time they get around to the rear styling.
I like the 3 hatch better than the sedan, but I like the 3rd gen sedans better than the P5.
Go figure.

As for the five, well, it's better-looking than a mini-van but it seems to me that it would compete with sales of the 3 hatch? Lots of issues with that new model, too.

Mazda 3

I just bought my Mazda 3s (5-spd) yesterday. I love it. Unfortunately it's snowing outside right now so I'm wondering how well it does in snowy/icy conditions.... Anyone know?
