Trailing arms a going!!

Get your Rear Trailing arms checked .....for all 3's and 5's....Bushings are separating & becoming loose . I've replaced about 100 sets myself. They are covered under the standard bumper to bumper warranty . But you may have trouble getting good will after that , as they (as well as all suspension ) are to be inspected with most standard services . So if the boys are not checking them closely or you don't go in for scheduled services , they will get missed .

what are the symptoms? any noise? will the dealer automatically replace them? if they aren't separating does that mean yours are good - is it a manufacturing thing where they had a bad lot? or is it a wear item that wears due to some external factor?

Symptoms may include clunking noise, squeaking , as i have stated the warranty will cover them only under a bumper to bumper for sure . After that you may have little to no luck . There is supposed to be a recall coming out for these, but nothing as of yet . 5's are having the biggest problem with separating , still young & low mileage , bushings have fallen out on the floor when the arms has been removed . Get them checked!! Retail cost in my area is $700.00 for parts and labour. I'm in Canada, so bumper to bumper is 3years or 80,000Km , after that your on your own.
