Question Under-Body Splash Guard

Greetings all!

I looked under my 04 M3 5-door for the first time trying to get the snow/ice out of the front cowling. There is a plastic guard under there that goes from the bottom of the grille to a cross-member. There was another broken off piece of plastic at one of the bolt holes for the guard, but it wasn't part of it. It looks to be part of another guard/shield of some sort.

Should there be another plastic piece under there that covers the bottom of the motor?

Thanks in advance.

I'm 99% sure that yes there should be. I drive a Speed3, which is essentially the same 5 door hatch, and there is a plastic cover that protects the motor. It covers the oil pan and such so that you have to remove it to do an oil change.

I had the same style cover on my 2003 Mazda6 as well.

Thanks Silver!

That's what i guessed. In Wisconsin, NOTHING plastic lasts too long on the underside of a car.

Now i just have to find a replacement or fab one up.
