5th gear grinding

5th gear grinding
I am picking up my new Mazda 3 today after bringing it back to dealership because most of the time it grinds going into 5th gear. It only has around 1000 miles on it.
In a phone call to tell me it was ready, I was told it is most likely driver error. Both my wife and myself have years of experience with 5 speeds and this grinding has occured to both of us. I resent being told there is no problem. I'd say about 80% of the time it grinds going into 5th gear. Never happens going into another gear.
Any help or sugggestions appreciated.

I am shifting from 4 to 5th around 43 mph or so. It seems like double clutching before shifting into 5th helps.
The mechanics said it only had some grinding when they did not fully engage the clutch. I an sure we push the clutch all the way down before shifting.

I hadn't thought about it until I was driving home a few days ago. But i'm an example of someone that skipps gears regularly and have 33k miles on my 07 3. On my way around town i'll regularly skip from 2nd or 3rd to 5th at 20-25mph with no issues.
