Custom Intake
#3
I have not made one for the Mazda yet, but I made one for my 08 Civic Si I used to own. Worked good. You shouldn't have any Air/Fuel problems as long as the tube size for the MAF is exactly the same. Also do not over oil the filter.

If you throw a CEL: un plug the battery, pump the brakes a few times (to drain any electrical charge out of the system), wait 15 min and re hook the battery. Now fire the car up, let it idle for another 10 min, and you've just reset the CEL. DON'T just jump in and test your new intake by pinning the throttle or ugly things may happen.
Letting the car idle for a few gives the ECU time to relearn your new AFR (air-fuel ratio) since your new intake sucks in more air than before.
Make sure you don't reinstall the MAF backwards.
