Dealer Service says the Speed 3 CAI is not shipping?
I just bought a 2008 MS3 and picked it up on Thursday. I wanted the speed3 CAI and the Cat back put in before I picked it up. I chose Mazda seed so I can keep the warranty.
They called on Tuesday and said the CAT back was on back order and was not due to ship until Oct 11th.
Then the day I pickup the car, they tell me that service ordered the M3 CAI and that they have reordered it. Then the service manager tells me that Mazda Engineering has a hold on all CAI due to a rash of check engine lights. He tells me he doesn't know when they will be shipping the part.
Does anyone know if this is true? How do I know if he is full of BS?
It seems to me that they have been shipping these for 2 years and should have worked out an issues by now.
My last car was a 05 G35 6spd....but I love the zoom zoom the ms3 has.
Any help and incite would be appreciated

Mazdaspeed3 CAIs have been discontinued.
From what I hear, there were a few hydrolock cases, and Mazda didn't want to replace any more engines for free. You can probably still find one used, but make sure you get a bypass valve for it if it ever gets really rainey in Stamford.
Injen has a great rep for high quality intakes.

and here's the bypass valve I mentioned:
