Smile need advice for turbocharging my 3

I'm new to the mazda club and was looking for some advice. I have a white 2012 mazda 3 s grand touring, so thats a 2.5L engine, 6 speed tranny, and all the bells and whistles. Over the next couple of years i basically want to make it a custom mazdaspeed3.

What all would i change in my engine with the turbo being the last added thing?

Simple, sell your car and get a speed 3. The engine management computer doesn't like piggybacks, so you cannot tune the 2.0 or 2.5 to properly run a turbo. It would be cheaper to get a speed 3 too because our tranny can't handle over 250 horsepower. Just too much to change and or upgrade....not worth the blood, sweat, and booty!

i do hear alot about that issue but i can find no way to compare the two transmissions and from all the websites I look at and mechanics i talk to, there seems to be a very little difference between the 2.5L and the 2.3L of the mazdaspeed3. but if you can help out with part numbers or anything that'll help clarify it would be amazing.

and its not like this is gonna be an overnight project, i plan on making these changes over the next 3-5 years. money is not an issue cause i love my car and trading it in isnt really an option for me. call it sentimental value lol

i know people that have boosted 1st gen 3's with no issues. They used hi-boost kits for their car but there is a lot of wire splicing involved. If you can get your hands on some spare parts it would help out just in case you want to return the car back to normal.

here's a link you can check out. http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...azda3-FAQ-INFO

I feel the cost to boost your N/A MZ3 (parts, labor, tuning) will be more than it would to just sell your car or trade it in for a MS3. My opinion though, but all the power to you. The motors would definitely respond differently.
