pic:cant start car,is this box an alarm?
further down the page ive tried to find some help in starting my mazda3 after replacing the engine and airbags. still cant get it started and now im trying one last dig before i call in the pro's.
on my cars dash next to the dimmer it has a small LED that comes on for a couple of seconds when the ign is turned on. the LED does not look original. actually looks like an added on alarm LED. it comes on for the same ammount of time that I can hear some kind of actuator wind over near the battery under the bonnet. (maybe it has something to do with the abs, or its circuit).
either way the unit looks like some kind of an alarm and looks like an added on item. its squeezed in on top of the cruise actuator and its mount bracket. Ive followed the wires from the LED and part of the loom splices into both brake switch wires and a clutch switch wire and then through a seperate solo fuse, then head through the firewall and on to the little black box (as pictured, memory card is for size reference, not part of it).
I bought the car damaged and havent had it running at all. Ive replaced the engine and the 2 front deployed airbags.
do you guys think this is an alarm module? (maybe theres another key fob needed) that wasnt supplied by the last owner.
the car has an immo & keyless entry that seems to be working correctly (the key light goes off and the doors lock anyway).
any ideas/comments? im getting desperate!

If that's a stock part to the car, there should be some ford (FoMoCo) or mazda logo in the plastic, or a sticker with a part number. I have no idea what it could be, but there is no LED next to the other lights on the dash, so that is definitely some add on. Follow the wires & make sure they didn't break a wire when they spliced into something.
