Stupid wires on MAF broke help please.

Awhile back my car started acting funny, I checked everything out and one of the wires slipped from the MAF harness. I tried soldering it back on, but every week or so it just comes off again due to the location of the break in the wire. I called mazda dealer and they said it was going to cost about 500 bucks for a clump of wires to replace the ENTIRE HARNESS. I really dont want to replace the entire thing only just little wire cluster with the harness that connects to the MAF. Does anyone know where I could get ahold of one of these, or if anyone has a junked mazda 3 they know of? This has been such a stressfull task, if anyone knows a way to get out of paying 500 bucks I would be very thankfull.

Check a local junk yard. $500 seems crazy expensive. When I shorted out my MAF sensor by sucking some water up my cold air intake a while back, it cost me $500 for a rental for several days, a new MAF, and a PCM reflash (necessary if you get a new MAF).

You would think they would seel them in pig-tail ends, but no that would be too easy and cost efficient. Hopefully they can do something cheap and effective to fix it. -So annoying.

Just cut all 3 wires, get some small primary wire (the same colors if possible) and extend all 3 so there's no tension. Then solder the connections and heat shrink them and you should be good to go. Unless of course your car is under warranty. Then....well, it's up to you.
