Unhappy Transmission woes

So today I'm on my way to work, and I'm trying to catch a green light before it changes, and then the damndest thing happened, it was like my all of a sudden my car went into neutral (5 spd auto). So I lost the "D" in my trans, so I tried manual mode and it works well enough to get to and from work. When I got back to my place, I checked the ATF(also did this before I left work), and I did an external inspection of the drivetrain. All looked ok. I'm taking it to the dealership to get it dealt with. Reverse works in case anybody is wondering. Damn this sucks..... I hope I don't get raped by the dealership. (Yes I'm still covered by Mazda and the extra coverage I bought)
