hmm.... im not sure, but i think a 245 will be to wide.. i think you may have some rubbing with that, but then again, it depends on the offset of ur rims.
i believe my rims on my 3 are 7inches wide, and i have 205s....
honestly, i think a 245 series is too big for a 6.5" rim.

There is little chance these tires will fit a 6.5" wide rim. Taking some typical data from tirerack on the 254-45-17, we have
Size 245/45 ZR17
Service Description 95W SL
UTQG 360 AA A
Max Load 1521 lbs.
Max. Inflation Press. 51 psi
Tread Depth 11/32"
Tire Weight 29 lbs.
Rim Width Range Meas. 7.5-9"
Rim Width 8"
Sect. Width 9.6"
Tread Width 8.9"
Overall Diam. 25.6"
Revs Per Mile 808
So the 6.5" nominal rims cannot accomodate this tire. Even if they could however, you'd get all sorts of other issues to worry about. The tire is about half an inch too big in overall diameter and over an inch too wide. This means that the rim needs to be moved out (using spacers) so that the tire does not interfere with the suspension coil, and I do not believe it would clear the wheel well rim. Not to mention that your speed and mileage readouts would be lower than actual by about 4-5%.
