KBB private party value lists it at $4275 in excellent condition (using my ct zip code, doubt it makes a difference though)
I think it's worth a bit more but only because I love RX-7s so much and it would be amazing to have a 20 year old car with less than 1/3 the miles of my 2002 :P

sure it's clean and low mileage but you have to think about how it compares to todays cars and other cars in that power/option range,.
$2500-3000 or so for a nice clean 148hp car made in 1987 that has probably had only a handful of oil changes and nothing else done. Also, Rotary engines don't like to just be parked and never driven. Solenoids stick, apex seal corner springs hang up and carbon deposits build up in critical passages. Not to mention gas gumming up in fuel lines and rusting the fuel tank.
I'm not scared away by miles...but I'm not really enticed by ultra low miles either.

Isn't there somebody in this area interested in this car? It has to be the most well kept 87 RX7 Sport available anywhere (except somewhere in Mazda headquarters Japan, I assume). $6k doesn't seem that unreasonable for this car.

I wasn't trying to insult you or your car I'm just saying it's going to be HARD to sell it for your asking price because of how old it is and how underpowered it is by todays standards. There are a LOT more choices for sporty cars in the $6k range. Besides as I mentioned earlier I'd feel more comfortable buying a higher mileage car that I know was taken care of as opposed to one with no miles that's been sitting for 20 years.
148bhp and no torque for $6000 is a hard sell no matter how many miles are on it.
It's a great car and I think you won't have a bit of trouble getting $3500-ish for it. That would be a good deal for sure.

You assume that the car has been "sitting" for 20 years, when in fact it's been driven, but only on nice days for pleasure. The car is in impeccable condition and has been very well maintained. If your looking for a fast powerful sports car, this is not your ride. A true RX7 aficionado knows what I mean.
