I know this. I'm really not sure.. no clue what my insurance company will give me if they total the car. I'm thinking on the high side $6k which leaves me screwed, unable to even get a stock P5 in decent condition.
I'm still hoping they won't but I wanted to scour the interwebs to see what my options were. I don't have a job so I can't finance anything.. the only way I'd be able to even get back into a totally stock high mileage but nice condition protege5 would be to sue the jackass who caused all this.

it's lame
I'll only pursue anything if the car is totalled. If it can be fixed, I'm happy because I get by baby back.

wrx wagon but without the ugly and with completely redesigned aluminum front suspension and suprisingly upscale interior.. the black and white leather looks AMAZING even though I hate leather
Oh I like that..Didn't know what that was before, seen them a few times. I like it in silver.

No.. still don't know my insurance co's verdict but I have wonderful news from the other insurance co. I got their estimate and it's $3063 --I quickly went through it and that is including buffing out the scrape in the front bumper (don't think it's possible but w/e), a 4-wheel alignment, chassis check and straightening (the shop has a very nice computerized chassis alignment system). Their price for the rear hatch part (salvage) is $200 more than the one my insurance company found as well.
Estimate was over $1500 less somehow?? I'm sure it's something where the body shop will find a lot more damage and have to get a supplemental check (they always do) but I don't care as long as the car gets fixed. I really don't even care how long it takes, that's less time I have to worry about my car driving in salt paradise.
Funny thing is both estimates said 5 days of repair but the shop said it would take at least 2, probably 3. All I know is no parts have even been ordered, they were given strict orders to get in touch with me to confirm part numbers and such before that happens.
I'm still hoping for the best.. if my insurance co revises their estimate (they had to go back after the shop pried the hatch open.. which I'm assuming already happened) and thinks my car is totalled, I'll just tell them to screw off and deal with the other dude's insurance co since he'll be paying for ALL of it in the end.

My back pain got a little better yesterday but today it hasn't improved again. I'm pretty sure after 7 days the soreness and numbness in my right leg should be gone.. but what do I know.. the people at the hospital didn't seem concerned at all, though I'm sure that visit cost $1000
