My 1989 323 For Sale
Selling my 323
Moving, buying another car and switched jobs. (sheez.... ya I know..... all at once)
Lots of stuff going on right now so it needs to go.
Info about it can be found here.....
http://students.washington.edu/ruthless/Brian_D.htm
Like mentioned on that webpage, the car was pampered.
Not to sound like a salesman or anything, but there are very few cars out there for under $2500 that offer everything this car does.
I just recently had to find a car for one of my friends (they all come to me for cars because of my automotive background) and she wanted to spend under $2500. I looked at dozens, and those were the good ones out of hundereds listed, and you know what? There were ALL junk IMO.
I don't care what anyone says..... I been in the car business for 20 years (body, paint, collision, mechanic, engine performance specialist, Porsche tech, sales, wholesaler) and nothing compares to a one owner car that was pampered. And I mean PAMPERED. Were talking extreme pampering here. You would have to see my father drive to believe it. He drove this car that way for 13 years. Never any accidents, abuse or curbs.
The end result after 13 years is..... EVERYTHING from switches, to door function, to engine, to clutch, to gear box, shifter operation, under hood rubber, seats, rubber and on and on and on and on and on..... operates completely different that your average typical used automobile.
The difference is like night & day. When I look at another 10+ year old vehicle that was driven daily or take it for a ride..... then get back into my 323..... the difference is staggering! Hell..... I have driven many 5 to 7 year old cars that are not in the shape of my 323 including a $30,000 Audi. No matter what you can't polish a terd. Once a vehicle has been "hacked" it's never the same.
Vehicle was garage kept for the first 7 years, is in excellent condition and EVERYTHING works perfectly.
I spent the last 12 months adding $2500 worth of parts to make it more enjoyable to drive, improve on it, and make it stand out from the crowd. Everything that was ever done to the car was installed professionally & correctly by me. There is not one single thing on this car that is hoaky.
Perfect car for a B6T transplant if that's what your into.
The only negitive thing about it.....
The paint is 13 years old and original, has several flaws, and showing it's age dispite still having a great shine. Like in the pictures from 20 feet away she looks terrific, but this paint is at the end of it's life. There is the common 323 rust spots starting on the 1/4 panels, small paint peals in a few areas (which I keep touching up), a small dent in the passenger side fender, and some ***-hole decided to put a key scratch down the drivers side this year. With a new paint job (which I intended on doing but plans have changed unfortunatly) she will be beautiful.
A few notes.....
115,000 miles / 8,850 per year. (well below average) Average is 12,000 per year.
2000 lbs, 100HP, 4-speed, 4:11 gears = 0-60 @ mid 8 second range & 1/4 mile @ high 16 second range.
Quick as a stock GTX, averages close to 30 miles per gallon, and loads of fun to drive.
I have tryed to find ways to keep her and paint it like I originally planned, but it's just not do-able.
If I were to have it painted it would be $2900 or best offer.
Asking $2400 or best offer..... if your serious contact me at Skybax@352ndFighterGroup.com and we can talk.
Thanks for reading.

I was not going to respond to your comment..... and I know you didn't mean anything negitive by it..... but.....
Hehehe, not very bright or polite are you?
Like I mentioned above, in the auto business for 20 years, so I know what the car is worth. I also know what is out there for sale between $1500 and $2500.
Go look at 20 cars for $2000, then come and look at mine, then feel free to come back and post those comments.
A smart consumer or knowledgeable auto enthusiast knows what a car is worth.
I can tell your young by just that one sentence.
Your cars value has nothing to do with my car or this thread.
Good luck trying to get $2400 for it..let alone 2k

I doubt I could get $2400 for my car with its rims!

thats great.....calling me dumb and impolite (although, i was pointing out your asking price is way too much)
You on the other hand with your first and initial post were not.
You won't find a buyer by writing stories about how great your car is. I could post all day about how excellent my white protege is, what great condition it is, and how i pampered it my entire life, that doesn't mean I'll get the $9400 i've invested in it.
I posted an informative thread about my car for sale..... that is all.
I'm amazed that you'd post such comments on here
When somebody takes the time to describe their car in detail that is for sale and informs the interested readers about their extensive automotive background, for you to come along and say.....
"Good luck trying to get $2400 for it..let alone 2000"
..... is just simply rude, totally negitive and completely out of line.
I really don't think you realize what you wrote to be honest.
I mean what did you contribute, accomplish, or benifit from posting that?
Are you saying that even though you never seen or drove the car, and dispite me having 20 years in the auto industry as a professional..... you know a better asking price than me?
I mean were your comments really needed for a lousy few hundered dollars difference in your opinion without ever seeing the vehicle?
..... I mean really.
If I was an obvious kid who knew nothing about cars and was asking $8500 for a $2000 car your might want to chime in with a comment like you did.
But you make yourself look bad when your supposed to be a representive of this board.
OH yeah, try posting it in the right section next time....i'm moving it to the cars for sale section.
Thanks..... for nothing.

I agree TheMAN..... KBB is a good general reference source for all kinds of auto numbers. Best way to check the retail market is to do a quick search on AutoTrader nationwide.
Hard to find any nice clean car that needs nothing for under $2000 these days. And most kids are attracted to large oversized aftermarket rims & tires, and or a booming system..... neither of which my car has. It's geared more toward an older mature person looking for cheap dependable transportation with some factory flare, or somebody looking for a clean donor to do a B6T hybrid.
This is everything from $1500 to $3000 currently. Only took about 10 minutes to do, cut & paste.....
