Kent, Connecticut Protege Picnic Meet, Saturday Sept. 7, 2002 (Details)
The Details For The Kent, Connecticut Meet have finally been made up.. please read the web page posted below in this message and then reply back with your name, what kind of car you've got, what you're bringing to this picnic, and where you're coming from..
I have all the offical details of the Southern New England Protege meet in Kent, Connecticut happening on Saturday, September 7th, 2002.
These details are posted at:
http://www.protegenetwork.org/chapters/SNE/
After reading and printing out the details for yourself, and mapping your way to the location, please reply to this thread with as much contact info you're willing to list as possible, and what you're bringing!
Please reply in the following way to this post, also list contact info for the web site or attendance list - cell phone not necessary but a good idea if you get lost:
1) David Brook, 2000 DX, Danbury, CT will be bringing garbage bags, plates, silverware (plastic), napkins, cups, soda.. cellphone 203-470-2203
We still need Ice (edible enough to put in soda) and a little more to drink (I'm bringing probably 3-4 soda bottles)

There is one of those barbeque things which you have to start up yourself utilizing charcoal and a lighter and etc. to keep the fire going, I won't be bringing any of the stuff to start the barbeque since I have no experience with it and don't have any of that stuff, if you want to bring hot dogs go right ahead, but you'll need the charcoal and a lighter and whatever else is needed for successful barbequing.. also foil to protect the food from the somewhat rusty barbeque there.. it doesn't seem to be actively used.

Cool, anyone who thinks they're coming please let us know what you're bringing food wise if you can bring something major or special with you, otherwise there will be NOTHING to eat..
Everyone who thinks they're coming PLEASE respond to this post so i can put you accordingly on the attendance list on the site.
Lets try to have at least 8-10 cars (and more people!)

Anyone attending this meet (with a car, it doesn't matter who you bring really too much) - please reply to this thread as 4drmiata and myself have done above by putting a number higher than the number of any thread on top of you, followed by your full name, what kind of car you drive, what kind of food you are bringing (we are depending on you!), where you're coming from, and any contact info you'd like to give us.
I will put this info on the protegenetwork web page, trust me, more people show up when more people are confirmed, everybody lets do this!
We need ice (for drinks) badly, macaroni and potato salads, a little more soda, and desserts, etc.. bring enough for 10-15 people who might show up, get something you wouldnt mind bringing home and eating yourself if some people don't show up!
As far as grilling/barbequing.. again the problem is that I have no idea how to start up one of the metal platforms at this state park which can be used for grilling, so your expertise would be needed for this, and the supplies would be necessary for you to bring also, charcoal, lighting fluid (?), a lighting device, foil, etc.. There aren't any/many stores around the meet so this all has to be planned out and brought in advance!! Otherwise just bring cold foods and non-perishables that you think others might enjoy.
There will be lots of opportunities for photos to be taken.. I will be there with my digital camera which has a 128mb memory card and lotsa batteries.
... Lets see some more replies! I know more of you are coming! If you haven't responded with the official method please do so now.. also it's highly recommended you PRINT OUT the web page this message is linked to for all the details.

Kent Falls meet on Sept. 7
I plan to attend. I've been to Kent Falls State Park several times in the past, most recently three years ago when my wife, son and I were coming down US 7 from Vermont. It's a real nice place. I live in northern NJ and it's mostly interstate driving almost all the way so it shouldn't take me too long to get there. I'll probably bring my wife and son along, too.
I propose bringing pasta salad and ham, cheese, bread and rolls for do it yourself sandwiches, if that's okay with the organizers.
I'm looking forward to seeing your cars and any mods you've done. Any information I can obtain will be greatly appreciated as this is my first Mazda.
2002 DX Millenium Red
MP3 Strut Tower Bar Kit
AEM Short Ram on order
Mike
