NY Peeps - Time for a Meet

yo all the NY peeps, lets get a meet organized for the summer. i've been dying for the last year since i had my Pro to meet everybody but being up at school has hindered me from doing anything. i say we go chill at a state park on the island, like Valley stream or something. what you all think?

Hey guys, been trolling the site, just registered. Doesn't look like a lot of New Yorkers here.

Anyway, there's an autocross meet this Sunday (may 25) at the Nassau Coliseum parking lot.
http://www.nyr-scca.com/soloSchedule.htm

It's an SCCA event, so there are a lot of different makes and stuff, but that's a good thing

This way, there'll be something to check out even if no Mazda heads show up. Then, whoever does show can talk about another meet.

I'll probably be there...but I might have a family thing to go to Sunday. Looks like there wouldn't be much of a Mazda meet if it's just us three. Where is everybody?

The auto-x has a lot of Miatas tearing it up out there. And I've seen RX-7s just hanging around, though I never catch them running.

Miatas , RX-7s . That would be hot to see. Well, we should definitly get Mazda people together in the area, even if it ain't just Pros. Besides, i just saw an orange Mazdaspeed, right here in my neighborhood(Sunnyside), and it was beautiful. I'm going to try to find out who that guy is. aight peace.

If you're meeting up sometime in the next month I'd be up for a meet, after that I'm moving to Chicago but I guess that's a different forum.

SCCA at Nassau Coliseum

Pretty big turnout at the auto-X already. They'll be racing till about 3 or 4. People will leave early, too.

Just a heads up to anyone interested in showing up.

Really? Didn't see you. All I saw were Miatas and a red RX-7. No Proteges at all. I was there until 1:00. Tried to come back at 2:30, but some dyke at the parking booth refused to let me in unless I paid the parking.

It was friggin' awesome. Stripped ThunderCoupe on fat slicks, bad *** Corvette, redlining Civics, Porches , tons of WRXs, an original Mini, go-karts...Even had a few EVOs.

When my Protege becomes my second car, I'll prolly make an auto-x project out of it.

Too bad more of you guys didn't come. Serously, there's no better place for a car enthusiast.

Damn man, I came at around 2 ish, and yes i know what you mean. it was hot!! the cars were awsome and this was the first time i have ever watched an auto x. i plan on doing it more often, perhaps even compete . towards the end it started to rain, which made it all the more interesting . too bad i didn't see you there cuz i saw not one pro . but its all good. i ran into a few miata folk that know from miata.net so it turned out nice. i'm still trying to get some people together to have this meet. so far a few have responded so i'll just give it time, but i'm definitly looking forward to this. anyways, peace out.
