Regional and SubRegional get togethers

Regional and SubRegional get togethers
Looking at some of the recent posts here, it's evident that it'll be hard to get the entire NorthEast together, as there is quite a bit of distance involved.
This will take some planning, and I think I have an idea of how this can work.
1.) We should plan to have a huge regional get together of the entire NorthEast at least Once, if not Twice a year. This would need to be planned at least 3 months in advance (preferrably 6 mos), and should take place in some cool remote location with winding roads, nice scenery... a small country town where we can literally take over the whole place.
2.) We should continue to have sub-regional get togethers on a regular basis... at least 2x/month. These can be planned ahead or spur of the moment get togethers. By sub-regional, it could be anything from everyone in South Jersey; the NJ, PA, DE region; etc.
This is a good way to get to know the people in your immediate location... and it can be a lot of fun. Say for example my order came in and I'm getting ready to install new suspension or something... it could be a get together in my garage... BBQ, Beer, etc. and some experts to lend advice, and some people who are clueless can hang out and learn a few things.
That said... don't flame me if this has already been arranged and I didn't know because I'm a newbie.
... and I'm looking forward to meeting other members in the Trenton/Princeton NJ area soon.

Cool
I want to meet up with people. Even if its just one or two people and not a whole group of people. Im from the Irvington/Union area and also my bf is from the Hillsborough/Princeton area, so we dont mind driving anywhere. Just let us know when and where and we will be there. Peace

Thats a pretty tall order. I don't know what numbers you're lookin at, but a lot of people have a lot of things to do ;-). In fact, my club hasn't even met in about 6 months....finally gettin together this month.

I'm pretty sure you misunderstood
When I said sub-regional... I meant of the very lowest denominator... more like 4 or 5 cars/people get together and check out a movie, or a local restaurant.
Or, in case someone just bought a turbo kit or something, maybe a few people in the immediate area would like to come check it out/watch the install, hear it run, etc.
So, yes, I think if you wanted to get drivers in the entire state of New Jersey together 2x a month, I'd say go take a hike, but If you wanted to say get a bunch of people from your same city together for a quick run, I don't think that's too complicated.
The philosophy behind it was to be able to foster your relationships/communications channels in your local area and get several small core groups together. Then when it becomes time for the big semi-annual or annual get together, it's a lot easier to coordinate and get everyone involved.
I mean, if you don't personally know anyone from the board, and then decide to go up in July and meet 30-50 drivers, it could be a little awkward at the least. If there is a core group of 3-5 guys you hang out with 1x or 2x a month, then when it comes time for the big meet, then you can at least travel in packs, and not worry being stuck alone in a field with a bunch of complete strangers. Arrangements can be made easier too, such as "OK, I'll bring the Grill and charcoal, you bring the burgers and hot dogs, and he will bring the beer."
