Has Chevy finally seen the light!
303hp V8

No I know most people are bious but I ask that you keep an open mind. For a car that's under 30k and decent looks, and that will have very nice get-up-and-go this could be a bad *** car. All so keep in mind that this is not a car built for the track, more so for the open road.

No one is going to want to purchase any of these V8s anymore...what with the gas prices and all.

Seeing that just makes me long for the old days. Just gimme a stripped '64 Biscayne 2-door sedan with the optional 425-hp 409 and Voila! instant sleeper-in-a-box!
I'd be buying those little bias-ply tires by the truckload.

all the american brands are going more bland. kinda sad. lots of complaints about the GTO's bland styling, when the original GTOs werent really that in-your-face when compared to the mustangs/corvettes of its time. one thing mattered and it was displacement.
if the american brands made a car that had bolder styling, a little less ford 500, a little more ford ka, and didnt cut corners all the time, i'd buy it over an import. and all this automatic transmission nonsense. they couldnt at least get some decent paddle shifting?? i'm a firm believer that if you have to get a v6, make sure it has more than 200hp to start out with. there are euro & jap imports that make more than that with a 4 or 5 cylinder.
sorry for that rant.

my ford taurus is a 220+hp 5spd manual.... sure it's FWD but it didn't have an iconic name to uphold.
meGrimlock said it best though......americans have SO much to learn when it comes to taking back their market share.

1. Holden Commodore (the typical i am a ****** on the roads Aussie car)
a) the VX commodore build around from 99 to 2002 i think...
b) the VY commodore 2002+ (so called new model).. not face lift... NEW MODEL!!
see the resemblance??? and the Monaro.. ehh GTO... was nothing more than a 2 door VX commodore...
but i guess u guys in USA got the pontiac Grille (which i think made the car look semi decent)
now das just 1/2 the trouble hehe herez Ford's new range..
a) the AU Falcon the biggest load of rubbish to be released here.. with so many factory re-calls i donno how ford Australia didn;t go bankrupt... umm 1999 to 2002ish i think.. look @ this monstrosity... UGLY UGLY UGLY!!!! second pic of it is the up-dated face LOL (umm i caint find a regular so a tickford *like a performance company brand* of the series II AU)
b) onto the new BA falcon.. which IMO aint as bad (mainly due to refined front end look and more aggressive curves) yet compare it to the AU.. and u just go WHAT DA FUNK...
now u see why the GTO was doomed from day 1 LOL... with australians styling it no wonder it looked **** house... also look @ the design of the car shape... notice how they ALL look the same... the bonnet lines and roof lines... only difference u really see is the face of it.... mechanically i aint too sure coz i dont like these cars.... but yeh hehe
[/end rant]

i kinda like the monaro/gto; simple is an understatement. but i can see where the styling is a disappointment, when you have a roaring v8 under the hood you want its bite to be as bad as its bark. but i think if i had a v8, i'd let everyone know about it in the loudest, fastest way possible - going sideways with the sounds of squeeling rubber.
now that the monaro is "retired" i think we'll have a few years for GM/holden to redesign it and reintroduce it to the public. when i first saw the falcon on vacation in australia, it struck me as something different (primarily because i hadnt seen the falcon name in a while). bland, but still different than the taurus in the states. the new falcon is starting to look a lot like a big 4 door mustang, maybe the aussies arent all that bad ^_^
