almost time for a new car

i'm looking to replace my fiance's car in the spring. the problem is i have no idea what to get. i'll most likely end up driving it the most seeing as it will probably get better gas mileage than the truck and i drive the farthest to work. while the Mazda3 isn't completely out of the equation i just don't think i will be able to afford it... we'll see when the time comes though. anywho i'm looking for a 2002 or newer midsize sedan around $15,000. right now i'm looking at Pontiac Grand Am GT's. I loved my 96 Grand Am but spending $800-1000 on replacing an LIM gasket every 30k miles and not to mention the warping rotors isn't exactly appealing to me right now. so anybody have any suggestions of what to look at?

Can you get any Jettas or Passats in that price range?

i don't really like the older style camry's... the new ones aren't bad but they're up there with IS300 and LS with the price range. I'm really picky about my cars!

that would be a nice ride and i'd certainly fit in with all the volvos, bmws mercedes, lexus, and infinitis in the parking lot at work but at that price i'd rather get the mazda3 that I really want.
