any ms6 updates?

i was just wondering if any of you ms6 owners have any updates on your cars.

i was outside the other day and walked past my ms6, when i spotted something. it was a rock chip or something on my hood close to the mazda sign in the grille. in other news i have pre-ordered the twm ss, have an awr mount sitting on my dresser, finally got my shark fin and my rockblocker front side marker kit. sometime this week i am getting the mazdaspeed cai, after that i am probably going to get my windows tinted. i'll probably stop there for awhile, and start working on my mustang.

my ATP downpipe cracked at the weld by the V-band. I've ordered the TMIC from p-garage before chirstmas and STILL haven't gotten it. Apparently there is a problem sourcing the cores. I'm buying the AWR rear mount, a new DP and whatever EMS solution comes out with a P&P or obdII connection first.

After that I'm just buying the ATP turbo and I'm done. I'm focsing my energies on the rx7 this year.

Right now on mine, I have the Mazdaspeed CAI, CPe engine mount, clear front sidemarkers, shark fin antenna, cargo net and autochromic/compass mirror. I too have the TWM shifter on pre-order, they now have instructions posted on their site so you can plan ahead for what you need to do. I'll be getting some springs once there are a couple more choices specific to the car, and either the TMIC or EMS. That should keep me happy for a while.

I'm not going to alter my suspension any. Just my personal opinion here but Mazdaspeed is already notorious for badass suspensions. I'm only planning a larger rear sway bar to help coax my new friend (the rear end) out to play every now and then.

I love the shifter....wouldn't change a thing about it.

How does the engine mount affect the cars driveability? I'm getting clunking from what I believe is my rear mount when I ****** second with any enthusiasm.

this is the same reason why i bought my mount. i went with the awr because its the cheapest, plus i know awr's rep. i haven't installed mine yet, so i don't know how it affects it. i've read the awr is the hardest, then cpe, then su.

Engine mount definitely helps with the snatchiness. With mine there is a slight amount of vibration at idle, less than what I get in my Protege with NSN filled stock mounts. It is not at all objectionable and I feel is a good mod. I've heard the same thing that Timmy says regarding the hardness between the mounts.

awr it is then. I just bought a new DD so the MS6 is getting parked....detailed and then parked....modded, detailed and parked.

you get the idea.

Got my TWM shifter w/bushings delivered and installed today. It is a great mod, nicer shifts with positive throws. There were a couple of little hitches I hit, nothing the proper tools didn't conquer.

If you want to see the hints I had, go to the Mazdaspeed6 section on www.forum.mazda6club.com. I posted in the TWM shifter thread. Someone posted after mine and didn't mention the shift cable keeper I encountered, so it must not be something that every car has.

I have had a Mazdaspeed CAI for about a month and a half, it is awesome. It isn't too loud with the windows up, but I was in FL for a couple of weeks and driving with the windows open you can hear both spool up and the BOV when you get into the throttle. Personally I like it.

timmy , what gauge pod are you talking about? I'm in the process of making my own right now...I'll post pics if I decide to finish it this way...no 'one else has one like I'm doing..

however, I saw someone make a guage podfor the Defroster vent and THATS what I really want. If you can buy those let me know where...I really need one bad.

On a sad note my turbo is going south real quick. I'm having to pull out of savings to buy the ATP upgrade. stupid mazda coolant seals.

yes, its the defroster vent one. you can pre-order it here: http://www.toppsi.com/product_info.php?products_id=148

updates. got my shifter, haven't installed it yet. looks like a nice piece. i also ordered one of the turboxs race pipes. i want a downpipe but this should be easier to uninstall for dealer work. downpipe will be later down the road, turboxs is supposed to design a shorty dp. also as soon as i get my guage pod, i will be getting a a 3 inch catback, like this one: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showt...hp?t=123660950 after that i'll either get spring or new wheels.

i was building a single fiberglass pod that would mounr on the inside of the flip lid on he dash. I got a single VDO gauge tab and started wrapping layers of FG over it to smooth it off.

I'd muchrather have this new vent holder though.
