Asking for help or at least a little time

My wife and I have gotten more and more political lately and her sociology degrees are stacking up and she's making me aware of numerous problems facing our country. Click the link above, watch the commercial and if you feel you can click the button to make a small donation to get this ad on the air.
No matter what problems we face overseas or at work our children should ALWAYS come first.

...I wish my computer at work had a sound card in it...
That's cool that your wife has a background in Sociology. Actually, my fiance is wrapping up her bachelors in sociology. Her father has a masters in it as well, and is licensed to practice.
I know that this is hardly your point, but it seems we both have good taste in cars, and good taste in women.

hahaha, yeah. Great minds think alike.
my wife is working on her third degree now. she has a tech degree in the dental field, a bachelors in medical sociology/pyschology with a business minor and she's starting her masters in Epidemiology in December. She's crammed 4 years of school into 11. haha

Well on topic, I'm not a pro at this but I did work for the Texas Association of Health Plans for 2 yrs so I do know a little about some of this. So with that, how are they planning on paying for this? And if it were to get passed and we started covering all children what about the Illegal immigrants that come here have kids and don’t work? One of the problems we have to day is the amount of money the government is giving out in the form of Welfare and food stamps. The Hispanic growth in this country is almost out of control. So many are coming here illegally that it is draining all of our pockets. I know that’s kind of harsh and open but we already have a problem with the people coming over from Mexico that can’t speak English, that makes it hard for them to make it on their own and then they have kids while in America witch makes the kid a citizen, Now we can’t deport the parents back and now they can have the free money and if this program starts it will cost the tax payers even more. I make ok money now but I can’t afford a house for my son because of the taxes, this would just that that much more out of my pocket. I love kids, that’s why I have custody of my son. But I don’t want to pay for somebody else’s kids. Well I guess I can’t say that because here in Texas there is already a program like this called SKIP for state employees, and CHIP for all others.

I agree 100%....there are big problems in this country that need addressing and while I don't understand the in's and out's of this particular legislation I'm sure the money is dog-earred by congress in the national budget and has VERY strict guidelines as to who will get it.
on a somewhat different the immigration problem is HUGE right now. I was listening on the radio this morning that an employer in Alabama was offering FULL Blue Cross to ALL of it's mexican workers if they had a valid "ID", not green card just ID card....they TURNED IT DOWN...know why? because with blue cross you have to pay a $20 deductible and with the state funded hospitals you pay $0 if you're an illegal.. I think THAT stuff needs to be cleared up first. Doctors' hypocratic oath HAS to stop somewhere doesn't it??
