Back from Cancun, and a married man!
Wasssup all! Yessir, as they say - the honeymoon is over!
Everything was as near perfect as it could possibly be at our wedding and our honeymoon. The wedding was great, and the honeymoon was frigging awesome!
It feels good to be home - and good to be married, also. It all went really fast, but we had a great time.
Rather than start posting random pics and such, I'm going to wait a little bit. See, I had my digital camera at the wedding and honeymoon, and my dad and a few other people had digi's at the wedding also, plus the pro photographer, etc. I'm estimating we've got over 500 total photos easy. Lots to sift thru.
A good friend of my family is a webmaster and runs his own web hosting and design firm (www.windco.com for anyone interested). He has already begun working on a website for us! The plan is for him to set the site up, and allow me to build it up with pics, descriptions, etc. This should all be completed within the next couple weeks, becuase the idea is to put the web address in all of our thank-you cards, so those interested can just log on and check out our site. Of course, I'll post the address here, too.
A sincere thanks for all the good wishes from everyone here - and it's good to be back!

Hihoslva,
a most congratulatory greetings to you and your new bride. I pray your marriage maintains unequaled happiness endlessly..with an occassional speed bump to keep it real. Cancun? FoxyM - My wife and I went there last November for our 10 year anniversary. An incredible place for tourists and partygoers alike. Great bars with many sights and wonders. Plenty to do at the Native ruin sights (pyramids, temples, and such); the Isla de Muerjlas(?); the downtown flea market; and the beaches! Great weather and Cerveza(?). Just watch what you eat/drink and you'll be fine. Congrats again.

Thanks for the replies, all.
I would HIGHLY recommend Cancun to anyone - and it really doesn't matter what your idea of "vacation" is - Cancun has it ALL.
You can party your *** off. You can just do nothing, or read a book on a gorgeous beach. You can get adventurous and drive ATVs, speedboats, and do some incredible snorkeling or scuba diving. It's all about what you want, and you can accomplish it there for sure.
We did a bit of it all, which was very cool. We stayed at the Moon Palace resort, which actually is not in Cancun; "Tourist" Cancun is like a barrier island shaped like a mug handle - only a few hundred yards wide in many places, and a few miles long. The Caribbean Sea is on the east side, and there is the "lagoon" (Laguna Nichupte) on the west separating the barrier island from the mainland of the Yucutan Peninsula. The east side (ocean side) of the island is loaded with hotels - lined up like row houses one after the other - and the west side (lagoon side) has the shopping and bars and clubs and whatnot. The Palace Resorts has three hotels along the "strip" as it's called - the Beach Palace, the Cancun Palace, and the Sun Palace. I found This great map that shows what I'm talking about.
When you stay at one of the Palace resorts, you can "play" (swim, hang out, eat, drink, and be merry) at all 6 for free (there is also the Aventura Spa Palace, Xpu-Ha, and the Moon Palace, where we stayed) - and there is a free shuttle bus to get you there.
The Moon Palace is south of the barrier island, ad it's in the middle of the frigging jungle - seriously. The place is huge, but there is nothing else around it for several miles. VERY nice for a secluded, away-from-the-party-scene vacation. The beach at the Moon is not that great - the water is not that aqua blue, there's lots of seaweed (partly due to the recent hurricanes), and it's not that nice - but we were able to take a litle sailboat catamaran a few hundred yards offshore, where the sea shallows out some (6-10 feet deep) and the water IS that amazing carribean color. Awesome. Now for beaches, the strip is incredible. We visited the Beach Palace, and the water is simply amazing - crystal clear, and shallow (like 1-2 feet) off the beach for about 50 feet, then it gets to about 3-4 feet with medium sized waves perfect for body surfing and just playing around.
I can also HIGHLY recommend the Palace resorts - they are 100% all-inclusive. Every drink, every meal, many services, tours, all non-motorized watersports - it's all included. The service is top-notch, and the entire staff is so friendly it's almost uncomfortable . The minute we got there (literally), they put glasses of champagne in our hands, and there was a chilled bottle waiting in our room, also. The food is excellent, and there's plenty of it. I can't say enough about it. We stayed for 10 days, 9 nights, and it cost $3500 including airfare - IMO, the value is excellent.
Our website ought to be up and running soon, and I reduced the quality of these pics a bit for posting them, but here's a few just to show you guys how frigging gorgeous this place is:
This was our room, complete with jacuzzi, marble floors, and big-*** bed :
The view from the balcony of our room:
That "hut" (palapa) is one of the two swim-up bar/restaurants:
Another restaurant - this one surrounds the indoor pool, and is partially outdoors also:
The lobby of the Moon Palace Punta Nizuc (from outside our 3rd floor room):
Since the rooms face east, we caught an awesome sunrise just about every morning:
And this is one of my prized photos from the trip. My digicam can be set for up to 8 seconds of open shutter - that's how I got this pic (and I have two other good one's also):
I guess that's all for now - there are tons more that'll be up with the website. But Cancun is a fantastic vacation destination. I can't wait to go back, and definitely plan on it.

See...the catering hall for the wedding was great, and the place has been around for years. It was the first place we went to get started on the planning, and we never went anywhere else.
Anyway - they have an "in-house" DJ - he has his own business, but works for them a lot. So we booked him - great guy, too. And I think the travel agent was his sister-in-law or something, so getting hooked up for the honeymoon was really simple and smooth. But it's also why I don't know all the details - I really didn't care much. I think I said before that we paid $3500 for 10 days, 9 nights. This is for the all-inclusive Palace resort, and INCLUDED the airfare. I was amazed it was that cheap. 2 people could probably stay for a week for $2500 or so, especially off-peak (NOT in winter). Maybe try looking up "Travel Impressions" online and see what you can find out.
And good luck to you and Foxy .
