Cable or Dish?

Cable or Dish?
Ok, I am sick of my cable company. Every year or so, when it's time to raise the rates, they gotta play with the channels and subtract/add them to different tiers. Of course, one or two that I really like are always taken away unless I go to the next, higher-priced tier.
And what do they substitute?? The all-Oprah channel (please kill me), or CMT (gag)
or the Bowling Channel (all bowling, all the time, includng classic tournaments from 1960 in Waukesha, Wisconsin!)
So, I am thinking of telling them to go f*ck themselves and get a dish.
Do the dish companies try to pull the same ****?
I am looking for opinions, good/bad experiences, whatever. Feel free to throw in your .02 (.05 CDN)

well, we switched to dish, because the same bullsh** happened with cable.
cable raises prices but your lucky to get 60 channels..
dish is better .. WAY BETTER.. they occasionally raise the price. but they wont take away channels.
you have about 400+ channels *but there ain $#!^ (shi^) ever on* its a good thing to get too
look into it more

Get a dish and get the basic plan, and buy the card scrambler and card programmer to get every channel available on dish, that around 900 channels.
yeah i'd go with a dish it is actually better and yes the signal is consistent......i kno i'm a tech at dishnetwork...lol

get a dish, we had a sony dish maybe 5 years ago. NEVER went out no matter how much the weather sucked. it would snow and there would be a good 4-6 inches on that bad boy and not even fade. we had a 98% reception. now we got the "average" dish that you get with the deal...its better than cable, but its gone out mayeb 2 times with severe thunderstorms.
dish > cable
dish > cable

well the so called urban legand is actually the truth.. it will not happen alot at all... it happend to us maybe twice in a whole year.(due to loss of reception.. it also was on thunderstom days). just call up the station and eveythings back on line in a matter of 20 seconds
