Also from Canada, Western, BC.

I drive a red 1999 LX Sedan, also a "Touring Edition". What's with the rear spoiler (with led brakelight) AND the high-mounted brakelight on the rear deck? Obviously not factory installed. Either done at the dealer in in port I expect.

I am second owner (bought lease return from dealer).

My full mod list: CSA "Concept" alloy wheels (previous owner had dealer put them on when leased), K&N panel filter, sheet of that "non-slip mat" in dark grey cut to fit in the tray right behind the cupholders.

Hmm, that's it. The hilarious part is that the alloy wheels are still 14", just like the steel wheels!

What wheels do the 1999 "Touring Edition" model normally come with?

Upcoming modification: Clear corners ordered from ProCarParts.com (don't get me started on trying to order "internationally" from these guys, whew!) Yeah, well, it's NPT but not "rice" either.

I would like to get a strut bar for it but the dealer here wants about $400 CDN for the Mazda kit (the MP3 one I am guessing). Are there any others out there for 99-00 Proteges?

I have also been toying with the idea of a short-ram air intake, but have not convinced myself yet. (I am not comfortable with CAI, bypass or no - it can get quite wet here in the winter.) Didn't Mazda themselves consider one for the MP3 but didn't due to concerns of drawing in hot air? Did I read that on this board or was I dreaming/smoking?

Hmmm, I should look more often in the off-topic but then again I figure it is off topic so why bother. Oh alright a few are okay but most of them are pretty lame. This one is okay.

Hi All,

From Windsor, Nova Scotia. Still in the process of making the mods. Looking for a Canadian distributer of B&M short shifter. Guy at the store here wants $379.00!!!! That's sick I think!!

$379 is a rip off for the B&M shifter.

I got a quote of $209 for the Pro B&M short shifter from Mopac. I'm not sure if there's a Mopac near you though.

Here's a thread on the B&M short shifter:

Thanks Mike. i thought it was a bit out of hand. No Mopac's around here but at least now I have a price. Was that before or after tax?

Thanks,

David

Stop bragging!!

Here in NS we have the HST = Horse **** Tax

It used to be the BST but that was way too easy for everyone so they changed it to HST..

Wonderfull Nova Scotia... 15% on top of everything.

Another Ottawan

I spent last year in South Korea as an English Teacher. Just bought a classic red P5, used. Got a sweet deal, with winter tires on steel wheels too!

BTW, I'm in Ottawa.
