My father and step mother have nothing but honda's my father has a prelude. The Prelude is hot but to be honest it is not as quick as I thought. My step mother was talking about giving me the civic. It is already slow because it is a civic but to top it off it is auto. They also have the Acura Jeep which is the fasted of the three vehicles.

but lets be honest...WITH THE RIGHT CIVIC....it is POSSIBLE to hook up...**** almost any car is with the right base.....but every car enthusiast...especially us from the EURO ERA know this......

but to reply to your post...the civic most likely sux......so take it and sell it...(if your parents are like mine are they wouldn't let you just sell it because its too slow)

but i wouldn't give up a 5 spd. for an auto anyday

Hey, do not punch a gift horse in the mouth. Your parents are "giving" you a car. Even though you do not like it, it is a free ride for now, so save up and buy the car that you like in the future. But in the meantime...so what if it is a civic, it gets you to where you want to go for now.

you consider a mustang a sports car that is a muscle car sports the first true affordable sports car in my opinion was the 280z

The mustang is not a sports car, because it handles like a boat.
280z is a good call as the first affordable sports car, but VW sent the Karman Ghia over here in the '50s and they were pretty sporty for the time.
