Civic SI smokes Corvette C5

is that really all? no, i don't think so. the vette is faster. the civic was actually a protoype lamborghini with a honda body. yeah, and, and...and... LOL yeah, md is like, "damn, i lost." and everyone else is "man, there's no way! i'll take him. race again. civics suk."
personally, i think it's the driver. the vette will outdo the (stock)honda, and a souped vette will do the same to a riced honda. but you can't blame the car for losing unless is spits out major engine parts off the line. loser drivers with fast cars are still loser drivers.
what's funny is that he raced a 12 sec car? don't stock vettes run the 1/4 in like low 13's or so? i dunno, but to race again and lose says something about the driver.

Alright!
Dude! Thanks for posting the location of that thread! I agree with many others' comments: That's one of the funniest boards I've ever read!
I wouldn't pretend to know much about racing anyone, being an enthusiast but not a participant, but I love the idea of a supposedly "lesser" car kicking a another's ***; especially when there's a lot of smack talking.
And regarding Hondas, even though I don't care for their new designs (especially the new Civic), Hondas in general have always been exceptionally reliable, well built cars, and I've thought they were cool all in all. Too common, maybe, but still okay.
I consider Corvettes generally fast cars that are bought by the likes of dudes like that "mitcheldavis" guy-- Most likely rich dudes who can't drive and pretty much don't race anyway, but want to have a supposedly fast, attention getting car so people will think they're cool. They just drive it to work and that's it. It's like people who go out and buy a kick *** Jeep and never, ever even come close to going off road with it. Not once. It's all for show and no substance. Bogus.
In my opinion, I wouldn't want a Corvette even if money was no object. Aside from their design being lame (imo), they're among the least reliable cars you can buy, anywhere. And, what, 9 mpg or something hideous like that!? Gimme a break! So the complete deal is:
Lousy GM reliability
High insurance costs
Constant maintenance costs
High fuel costs
No room to carry anything
Ugly-*** styling (again, just my opinion!)
Target for vandalism/theft
No way! I'd go with a BMW M series or a Porche before any damn 'Vette! Yeeesh!
Oh yeah! And the guy can't spell, either-- "Dam Rice" What? Like, "Hoover" Dam Rice? It's DAMN, dammit!
