Co-worker hit my P5
I'm a chef/kitchen mgr. and the new guy whom I had been riding his *** all night because he needs to get his &*$# together since he's been there for nearly six weeks and still isn't ready for the real business yet to come (summer resort, business triples) finishes the night, punches out and leaves only to return 10 minutes later to tell me that he bumped my car. I take a look at the damage, minimal=driver rear door pushed in about 3-4 inches and a small scuff on the front door. So we swap insurance in front of a local Po Po who has us fill out our own reports and exchange them with one another as he assesses it to be under $1000.00...This guys Insurance Co. is already on the phone with me telling me not to order any parts and work until they look at the car. Yeah right!!! I've got 6200 miles on this car and they want to skinny the fix.
First thing I'm going to do in the morning is call my dealer as if I already had the work done and ask them if my "New Car" rust warranty still applies to the work done. Well I'll bet that unless the work is outside garanteed or included new factory parts vs. dent pulling, filling and painting that they will say not. Well when I got to work today my "brand new" P5 had an in tact panel to panel "limited" rust warranty and thats what I want back from whoever does the work, which will probably have to be a dealer (I don't know for sure) and will definatly cost His ins. more $$$.
So I'm just wondering if I'm seeing this clearly and if I stand a chance on this arguement to get a new door vs. body filler and buffing compound.
