Craftsman tool chests and cabinets
I am considering buying a Craftsman storage combo with a chest and a roll-away cabinet. Does anyone own anything like that. As far as I understand it, there are three quality levels: Premium, Professional and Ball-Bearing.
I was wondering if it is worth it to spend the extra money to get a combo with the ball-bearing drawer slides. Also, is the warranty the same for all three? Any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It depends...
since you're asking, I'll assume you won't be using it on a daily basis or professionally. With that in mind, there is no justification to spend the big bucks on the high end. Ball bearings are nice but not essential for the weekend mechanic. The lowest quality is kinda shakey so they don't take weight very well. Go middle of the road and you'll be plenty happy, but read the fine print on the warranty. The Craftsman warranty is only on hand tools without moving parts and varies according to the product.

I have a craftman ball being chest. I am eventualy getting a snap-on box for around $4000 but thats a ways off. The Proffessional is higher then the ball bering just so you know. The ball berings are nice since they allow a heaveier load in the draws without screwing them up and they make getting at tools alot eaiser. I would very much reccomend them for mild use. It realy depends on the amount of toold you have. right know My top draw has some issues becuase it is obviously past capicty with all my wratchets but a snap-on inthe 3800 or 4800 would have no problem. I wouldn't go any lower then the ball bearing they just aren't built well.
