Dammit!
******* UPS!
I just used the Transit Time tool at the UPS website to figure out when my Kartboy short shifter and bushings will arrive.
Based on it shipping from Tokigi Racing on the 9th, they say it will be here on the 17th! Eight ******* days??? That's three days too late!
I should have asked Jim how much "Expedited" would have cost...
Ok I know it is not the end of the world, but this is a birthday present, and it was supposed to be installed ON the birthday (the 14th).
What really annoys me about this is reading that Tom at Kartboy sent some samples to Toronto via USPS in three (!) days, and yet Kartboy will not ship orders to Canada!
Disappointing!
Now I know why UPS is known as "brown"...
You know, someday I am going to buy something from the states and NOT have it be a big PITA (Hah!).
Whew! I feel drained now... Of course, when it does arrive and I install it, all this will be forgotten. And then I'll order something else from the US.

Just keep in mind that there is a UPS man on this board. (Me).
Customs across the borders is a bitch! I agree it shouldn't take 8 days. Maybe they are counting the weekend too. It is 5 business days for shipping of products. As for the brokerage fees. Well someone somewhere didn't do the right figuring on the pricing for UPS. So naturally they will charge you for the time/effort of correctingthe problem.
Just keep in mind that 99.9% of the time it is the shippers fault as to why your pkg is taking soo long. Sometimes it is the consignee doesn't give full info too.
UPS is mainly at fault for things like damages. Lets face it when you have millions of pkgs a day going thru a system there will be some. Minimal comparatively speaking to the # of pkgs in the system.
The driver may also have some trouble locating your house. Dirt road way out in the wood with no street sign...yup possibility...never been there before and got lost, yup possibility.
UPS will call you and get some directions if the driver cannot find your house. (just some examples)
Im not being biased here. Just saying that you need to be sure that you give a company very specific and complete shipping info if you are ordering from them.
We cant do our job if you dont do yours!
Try FedEx ground or air, Airborne x-press and im sure you wont be happier. Biased? oh a tad. But i believe that it is true.
Sorry for the long post

As for other couriers... as I stated previously: USPS = 3 days, UPS = 8 days. That's not an overly complicated comparison.
Oh, and other factors such as shipper error, destination locating problems and so forth aren't a factor here. The eight days comes from UPS's own calculation system which probably does not include a "fudge factor" for shipper error or driver difficulties. I am more inclined to believe it produces times for "best case" e.g. everything goes right.

ups sux! ha ha, j/k man. but shipping to hawaii is worse than to canada. we only have one option, usps priority. anything else and i'm putting in overtime at work, selling three bags of crack, jacking two cars, and mugging the little old lady who walks to the grocery store every wednesday, just so i can pay for 2nd day air. lol
many ppl use ups who have great shipping rates, but sadly hawaii is never part of the lower 48 states.
bastards!

Well it finally arrived this morning! But I couldn't install it this evening. Tommorow!
Nice to know that I am not blowing my money on packaging - the shifter is wrapped in bubble wrap and the bushings are in a ziplock bag!
It was all packed well in newspaper in a good size box though, and arrived in perfect condition.
