Corvettes are also unbelievable machines, the C-5 AND the Z06. Sure, the Z06 is one fast *****, but the C-5s aren't exactly slow, either
That's probably a nice dream car that I actually COULD afford someday. Corvette's are resonably priced compared to other supercars. I wasn't aware of the gearing problems, though. Thanks for bringing that up. The gearing too far apart, or what?

Im sort of a newbie when it comes to gears and such on a car, since my P5 is the first manual I have ever owned. This may be a stupid question, but what do you man by gears being to far apart? Then you say that if they were closer together, the car would be faster? Maybe im not thinking straight, but its probably something very simple that im missing...

basically when you shift if the gears are far apart the RPMs drop way down. If they were closer they wouldn't drop as far and you would be in a better part of the power band; so the acceleration would be faster. The ZO6 does have different gearing from the normal C5...

The M5 is an amazing car and all, but my all time ultimate dream car is the current M3. I sat in one at the auto show a few weeks ago..drool... It may not be the fastest, but it is very very fast and IMO the most beautiful car made today.

Why 1978? You like the 25th anniversrey? All the special editions are back and silver. Get the pace car edition or go to a much earlier C3 to get a bad *** engine. Nice to meet you by the way Mxyzptlk.

Well, I have always loved Vettes, and my father just bought an 86' Vette Convertible, with the 350V8 and a 4+3 shifter in it. It is beautiful with only 22,000 miles on it. But dream car is a RUF RTurbo3. That is one ballsy car and can go close to 210mph. That is my choice now that the vette is at the house.

Okay....I am going out on a limb here....mine...the 1964 Studabaker Avanti.....it was only made a few years...and styling wise...was WAY ahead of its time....came STOCK with a Paxton centrifugal supercharger and would do 160 MPH off the dealer floor.....in 1964, for a domestic to run like that was unheard of. There was a Company in Canada somewhere that was remaking them a few years back, putting GM drivetrains in them and calling them the Avanti II.....to take one now....lower it a little..put nice rims and tires on it...imporve the handling .... would make a seriously awsome ride...not to mention....It would be something different that NO ONE around would have.
