i usually start swerving when a hottie pulls up alongside of me. i lose concentration (not that i had much to begin with) and have little regard to other patrons of the road.

on a side note, i am a reckless yet assertive driver. i may not always stay in the lines, but 95% of the time i know what i'm doing. lol

yes, there are many good women drivers out there, but unfortunately when something bad happens it somehow seems to be the result of a female driver, which screws it up for women drivers everywhere.

yeah, we shouldn't stereotype girls as bad drivers. Usually the biggest idiots on the streets are guys....

on a sidenote.... my friend gave me several heart attacks today when he went into a one-way street going the wrong way.

writing 'chill pill' on that women's car would've been nice......

how old was this woman?

Personally I find it VERY annoying that so many men stereo type female drivers. True a lot of woman can't drive, but neither can a lot of men there for you shouldn't blame one sex over the other. Second of all I think it's BS how many guys think that a girl can get out of a ticket by flirting, trust me it doesn't work!!! Guys are just as likely to get out of a ticket by "flirting" with a female cop as a female does "flirting" with a male cop. Oh and one last thing...for all you guys that talk about females don't pay attention to the road because they are busy putting on their makeup, what about all the guys that don't pay attention to the road cause they are busy playing with the stereo??? Just a little something to think about before you stereo type women drivers.
First, it does not take two hands to play with radio or stereo, and if you know your stereo well enough, you could do it without taking the eyes off of the road. Second, it is a known fact, and has been reasearched - women have a worse orientation behind the wheel then men, i.e., parallel parking, or backing up. Once again, I am not dissing women for their sex, but women have harder time understanding the size and limits of their vehicles. That is why I think that some of them should not drive. I drive 3K a month, all highway miles. I always go 10 over the limit, and whenever I get passed by a car, it is a female, sucking or biting on her thumb. What is up with that, all women do that? I was coming off the exit the other day, and all of the sudden almost at the end of the exit ramp, this Jetta, operated by a female, almost swipes me off the ramp. I got very angry, and honked, but there was no response what so ever, not even a turning signal, as though she did nothing wrong. But, she was from Massachusetts, and it is a touring season in Maine now, therefore, I have to pay attention to other drivers twice as much, no matter if they are male or female.

If women drivers are so much worse, why is their insurance lower?

IMO, i think most (not all) women drivers are NATURALLY bad at driving...its their personality and the way they grow up. so insurance companies give them a break cuz on the whole...they know if they get into an accident.....its just that...an accident. however, guys are guys and usually when they get into an accident it was not an accident...it was someone going down a 1-way street the opposite way (Makaveli's friend..) or doing something stupid (see the street racing forum for more examples...lol)
Why would insurance companies want to loose money on women just because it's not their fault, they were raised that way? Women may be bad drivers, but the facts are that they get into less accidents than men. Sorry. I actualy think women are better drivers than men. They talk on the phone, put on their make-up, drink coffee and shift all at the same time, there's no way i could do that.

Well, I can't put on makeup either when driving, not that I do any other time.
MP Bad Boy, are you sure about that?

No offense but it's known and acknowledged fact that men and women are biologically different which give each their unique traits and characteristics. I'm not saying one is superior over the other, but they are different and these differences determine their capability at a certain task. No offense really, I don't hate women or anything, just wanted to bring up a point.

about that womens insurance being cheaper crack.....

this is actually not necissarily true anymore, it has come to the point that men and womens insurance are equal (of course that is meaning they have the same history and etc) but by no means is insurance cheaper for women these days.... take it from me, i work on a regularly bases at a insurance agency (allstate) and have a father who has worked in that industry for over 20 years

anyways

girls pay less for insurance when they first start driving cause they have a lower tendency to take risks such as speeding (ie. showing off to other ppl on tight corners etc.) or street racing.... however guys might just pull up to another car at the lights and LETS GO!! hence the insurance guys need to cover their ***...

but I dunno why the insurance co. doesn't take into account that when something sudden happens on the road, usually females will get all freaked out and like dunno how to respond...... and they would just do the most inconsiderate things, like change lane erratically... tale gate within like 7ft doing 80mph on the highway.... doing 40 in a 25 zone etc....
I'm not saying this applies to all girls but most are generally less aware of their surrounding driving conditions and hence tend to make mistakes that are dangerous but in no way were they intenionally trying to be dangerous...
whereas for guys, street racing is intenional....

hehehe, had to do that..... but I was joking

in any case, don't you guys think that if someone was to run a stop sign it would more likely be a man instead of a woman? I think so. Men are more spread out on the driving spectrum. You got Schumachers and other great drivers of the world that can do lots with their cars, and then you got some real idiots that really can't drive on the other end. Women are usually in the middle though and aren't as interested in cars as much as men (notice the world 'USUALLY'). So I don't think that sex matters at all when it comes to driving, it's the driver and how they were taught to drive.

so let's not go too off-topic.....

The woman was around late 30's or early 40's. Old enough to know her manners.
