Betcha 5 bucks that the frame under the hood matches the design.

It never snow's around here either... but I'm ok with that. People that don't usually have snowy winters tend to suck at driving in snowy conditions, and usually someone gets killed.

^^ people here (one of the snowiest areas in the states due to the lake effect snow off the great lakes) suck *** at driving in the snow too. Every mile or so on the highway on my way to work I'd see a smashed up or rolled over car. every.. single.. time it snowed.

Problem is nobody uses snow tires here for some unknown reason. You cross the border into canada and everyone is on steelies and snow tires. Truth be told, a lot of things change when you cross the border.. massive SUVs become minivans, honda civics become Mazda Proteges, etc.. it's just a smarter place than upstate new york overall. people here are friggin tards in the winter. The only people I know from school that use snow tires are myself and my roommate from PA. I don't know a single person from rochester-buffalo region that uses snow tires.

f-ing all seasons are worthless. when it snows here, nothing closes. RIT has a policy that they won't close unless there is a declared state of emergency. It has only happened a couple times in over 175 years. --I don't get how everyone is so hardened when it comes to the snow yet they don't have the common sense to use snow tires. boggles the mind

The snow fell uniformly; what you're seeing is the heat distribution on the hood. It was warmer in some places than others when the snow contacted it. As natey suggested, probably because of the underlying structure.

You're really getting into that new camera! You've prompted me to start researching DSLRs...
