fry those cats!!!!
ok heres the run down
i have two cats from next door that seem to think when i come home at night its ok to jump all over my car and lay down and make them selves at home, they like to go insides the car too
they leave scratches EVERYWHERE on the car and its just too damaging
im thinking of trying to scare them away for good
so i was thinking if i stuck a truck battery to the frame(connected with some jumper cables to the frame) that it would electrify it so when the jump on it them jump right back off to never return (i hope)
i was wondering if this would work?
would it harm my cars electroincs? (the batt would be connected for an span of overnight, 8 hrs aprox
would i fry the cat? i dont want a permenat stain on the car nor do i want to kill my neighbours cats
if anyone has another suggestion (thats been tested and proven to work) im all ears

Just go to a dog pound, get a mean and pissed off dog, and after the dog scares the cats away, just loose in the wild. Well. if you like the dog you can keep it. Anyhow, I was only kidding about the dog thing, but I think you can do more damage to your then good.

first off I wouldn't leave it open so that they could get inside.....
go to your neighbors and tell them of the problem....tell them if they can not keep their cats away and off your car...that you will have to take some sort of action.....and if they continue you will expect them to repair all the damage.
Make a formal complaint.....
if you have to .... catch them...and that them to the pound. OR.....just take them far away and let them out. .....

Since they are your neighbor's cats then you'd probably get in trouble if you do something to them, I think you should try and talk to them first.
In my case the cats were from the street so I just took some target practice with my air guns/rifle, now they stay away from my garage and I leave them alone (usually )...but I hate cats.

Open your hood and throw the cat in to work with the hamster down there.
After a few lap, it would not want to come anywhere close to your car any more.

lol
Cats hate water so juist camp out with a super soaker and give em a nice hit of water its more humane then anti freeze and they probubly wont bother you again.

PLEASE!!!
No antifreeze!
No dumping them far away!
This is not the cats' fault, but their owners' for not keeping them inside.
So far, the best solutions I've heard are the car cover or the squirt gun. If you're pretty consistent about it at first, it shouldn't take too long to get them trained this way.
But yes, the primary responsibility falls on their owners to keep them from damaging your property.

Car Covers = Urine Target
Only if you like the wonderful acrid smell of ammonia! Male, unneutered cats have a tendency to "spray" their territory which is what the car cover seems to become.
As I have said before, keeping cats outside in and of itself is cruel. There are many communicable diseases rampant in cat populations these days. If you actually care about your animal, this is not the manner in which to keep one. Average age of feral/outside kitties is about 2 years or so; compare this to the 12 - 15 year lifespan of a well-maintained indoor cat. Further, cats are highly effective predators and are responsible for the decline in wild song bird populations among other things. The estimates of the number of birds killed each year by cats is truly astounding.
The most effective method is to contact your animal control officer. they will give you a trap to catch the kitty, and collect it later. While this may result in euthanasia, consider that a cat on the street is likley to become killed or injured or diseased, anyway.
Either that, or you can start sporting a Cat-skin hat, much like a modern-day Daniel Boone!
