I do! I just got back from the clinic. I've been running a fever of 104.5*F for the last 5 days, and I've been tired with 20 hours of sleep a day even! (Long weekend.)

So, my Mom took me to the clinic and I found out I've got mono, strep throat, and an enlarged spleen that really hurts. It feels sometimes like someone is jabbing a knife into my driver side just benieth my ribs.

Since I'm "active" I can only assume my girlfriend has it too now, and this **** is supposed to last for up to 6 months!

Has anyone else had the "kissing disease" and how long did yours last?

 

Been there, done that. The acute part only lasts for a couple of weeks, but you will feel like crap for about a month afterward so six weeks is about right. I thought I had the flu, felt like crap all day, then busted into chills. One of my bosses / doctors (I was working at a med clinic) told me I had HepA and then another one came out and checked mono bloodwork on my lab form just before I left the office (glad he did). For the next week I felt like crap (my ******* spring break too) then started feeling better. Couldn't go back to work for 3 weeks. Mono can be transmitted by air as well (although this very rarely happens) so avoid close contact with other people for awhile (don't cough on people, etc).

 

good news or bad?

bad news....it never really goes away. It will stay with ya, and if ya have it really bad, when the weather changes, you will get those wonderful mouth blisters everytime.


Good new? well, there really is no good news.......except now ya get to do ALOT of sleeping. Good luck man, it sucks, I know.

Ya, I feel like ****. I'm always either hot or cold, never in between. Other times I sweat while shivering!

This is gonna suck, espesially with grad 2 weeks away. Hope I can still get drunk!

 

I had it too Nick and it lasted about 4 weeks. You need to sleep alot and drink a whole bunch. It does suck but there really isn't much you can do about it. If it isn't gone by the time grad comes around; I wouldn't drink, the mono will only take longer to leave. Have fun while sleep'in. Good luck man!
